Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges adopt the following position regarding programs requiring accreditation from a State agency:
There are some programs offered in Community Colleges which require accreditation from a State agency in order for the graduates of these programs to take State licensing examinations. A State agency which accredits such programs offered by community colleges may establish minimum qualifications for faculty teaching in such programs. Faculty hired to teach in these programs need to meet both the minimum qualifications established by the Board of Governors and those of the accrediting agency. Programs in this category include: Registered nursing, Licensed vocational nursing, and Psychiatric technician.
