Rising Scholars and Mellon Grant Regional Meetings

- North and South Location
Events are free and will be held 10:00AM-4:00PM. The events will be livestreamed for virtual attendance. Lunch will be provided. Virtual attendees will be given information on how to join the event online the week leading to the event.  September 16 – Southern Regional at College of the Canyons, Dr. Van Hook University Center (Room 258)  No parking pass is needed. Attendees must utilize the parking spaces in “Student Spaces in Student Lot 14.” The event will be held in the Dr. Van Hook University Center, Room 258. Please see campus map here. Rising Scholars and Mellon Grant Regional Meetings

The ASCCC and its Mellon Grant Community of Practice team are excited to announce two regional faculty and one faculty coordinator event (see dates below). At these events, attendees will have opportunities to connect with colleagues and to share ways to build strong communities of practice for faculty teaching in prisons and jails. This is designed for faculty teaching inside; however, all interested faculty are welcome as are administrators and staff!

Open for Antiracism - Supporting Educators to Use Open Education for Antiracist Teaching

Launched in 2020, the Open for Antiracism (OFAR) program engages and supports California Community College faculty in transforming their classrooms to be antiracist by leveraging OER and open pedagogy. Participating teams of faculty will join a community of practice learning about antiracist pedagogy in the fall through an asynchronous facilitated online course.
