2015 CTE Curriculum Academy

Event Dates

Sponsored by the Chancellor's Office through Perkins Leadership Funds, CCCAOE and the Academic Senate will host the first CTE Curriculum Academy "Doing What Matters for CTE Students: A Collaboration of CTE Faculty with EWD and Regional Leaders" January 15-16, 2015 in Anaheim at The Anaheim Marriott Suites.  

The first day of the event, attendees will participate in a Leadership Academy offered by CCCAOE.  Day two attendees will participate in an intensive CTE Curriculum Academy led by the Academic Senate and geared to help all participants better navigate state and local curriculum processes.  Attendees will receive information and training on topics such as curriculum basics, effective practices for curriculum development, the Program and Course Approval Handbook, C-ID, and other aspects of curriculum development and approval.  Please see the program description for each day below.

Due to the overwhelming response, registration for this Academy is closed, however, we have created a waitlist. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, please email Linda Schlager-Butler, ASCCC at linda@asccc.org with the subject line "Waitlist for CTE Curriculum Academy". Please include in your email your name, college, phone number you can be reached at and your email. When we receive a cancellation, we will contact those on our waitlist in the order their request was received.

Registration is free for those selected to attend and includes breakfast and lunch on Thursday and Friday, two nights hotel accomodations (January 14th and 15th), and conference materials. If you are approved to attend this event, hotel accommodations will automatically be reserved for you. Please note the specifics for each registrant classification.  

  • Sector and Deputy Navigator Registration:  Only current Sector and Deputy Navigators can attend this event.  
  • CTE Faculty Member Registration:  CTE faculty interested in leadership positions in their senate, on their campus, or in their discipline are encouraged to apply to attend this event but per college membership will be limited to one or two members per college. 
  • Curriculum Chair Registration:  Curriculum chairs interested in understanding the challenges of CTE faculty in the curriculum process, searching for ways to improve the curriculum processes in responding to industry, or are willing to help improve local curriculum processes are encouraged to attend.   

CANCELLATIONS

The ASCCC CTE Academy group rate is $120+tax per night.

The Anaheim Marriott Suites does not provide shuttle service. The estimated Super Shuttle fare is $11 USD (one way) from John Wayne/Orange County Airport and  the estimated taxi fare is $35 USD (one way) from John Wayne/Orange County Airport.

The Anaheim Marriott Suites offers complimentary wireless internet in the lobby and public areas. The guest rooms have wireless and wired high speed access for 12.95USD/day.
