Our third statewide All-Hands meeting features guest speakers and topics requested in your feedback, and for the first time will span for two days!

WHAT: Biotechnology Instructors All-Hands Conference & Discipline Input Group (DIG) Meeting

WHY: These events mark the first phase in the development of new TMCs and C-ID course descriptors to support Biotechnology AS-T degrees.  Your college will benefit to have a voice at the table!  This meeting is “come one, come all” to encourage wide participation and perspectives.  Later, faculty will be identified to serve on the Biotechnology discipline review group.  
WHO: We need faculty who TEACH courses in the field of Biotechnology.  
The Discipline Input Group (DIG) Meeting will be held on Friday, February 8, followed by the All-Hands Conference on Saturday, February 9.  The conference will have topics, which include:
  • CCC Transfer Model Curriculum- hosted by the CCC Academic Senate, focusing on developing academic pathways in Biotechnology from High School to 2-year to 4-year colleges.  This is an opportunity to share experiences, insights, and concerns to better serve our students.
  • Undergraduate Research at Community Colleges 
  • Presentation and practices for accessing and interpreting data from CCC DataMart
  • CCC "Doing What Matters" programs
  • Networking and roundtable discussions

Travel and Hotel Arrangements: 
Travel:  Please do not book your own flight arrangements unless given advance approval by the Academic Senate.  Travel and accommodation for Biotech Educators will be covered by the Biotechnology Initiative and the Academic Senate.  Please fill out the travel request form if you are requesting flight arrangements.  Please refer to the Academic Senate Expense Reimbursement Form and Policy.    
Hotel:  Please visit the Hyatt Place to make your room reservation.  Note that you will have to give credit card information to secure your room, however, you will not be charged.
