Whereas many part-time faculty are "freeway fliers" working full-time by crossing California community colleges district lines, and
Whereas many part-time faculty have insufficient medical insurance, and
Whereas AB 810 would allow California community college districts to receive state matching funds for medical insurance to insure part-time faculty teaching between 30% and 60% loads at the commencement of the third consecutive semester.
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges support the concepts in AB 810 as they exist on April 2, 1995.
