Whereas the purpose of the plenary session of the Academic Senate is for California Community Colleges to provide an opportunity for delegates of the 107 community colleges to establish the direction of the Academic Senate, and
Whereas limiting the ability to write resolutions at the session would inhibit this process, and
Whereas the concern focuses partially on the ability to amend motions,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges maintain the current resolutions procedures until such time as new procedures can be developed to provide an opportunity for resolutions written during the first resolution writing session to be made available for amendment during the second resolution writing session the next day, and
Resolved that the Executive Committee consider adding a short session at the beginning of the final day for the purpose of amending resolutions written during the final writing session.
