Accreditation Standards

Whereas new national standards for accreditation are being proposed, and

Whereas these are described as "threshold" standards to build on, and

Whereas historically "thresholds" "minimum" standards tend to become ceilings, and

Whereas our current standards have helped ensure the high quality of community colleges in California,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges ask the Accrediting Commission to maintain the specificity in the current standards.
