Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges amend the position paper Administrator Retreat Rights: An Introduction and A Model Procedure by adding item #5 on page 2: 5. What is the delineation of responsibility between the local bargaining unit and the academic senate regarding financial compensation for an administrator who retreats into a faculty position? Financial compensation, such as Y-rating, for an administrator who retreats into a faculty position is primarily or exclusively a bargaining unit matter. Contract language and/or Board Policy may address this concern by providing for negotiation between the governing board and the bargaining unit or between the governing board and the bargaining unit/academic senate.
