Summary
Employ appropriate venues to inform faculty about the process for developing minimum qualifications for emerging professions and best practices for assigning courses to disciplines when an appropriate one may not exist.

Whereas, New career technical education programs are being developed to allow our colleges to maintain a competitive edge and to stimulate the local economy with a well-prepared workforce; and

Whereas, Many of the professionals in these emerging industries do not meet minimum qualifications to teach credit courses in the California community colleges;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges employ appropriate venues to inform faculty about the process for developing minimum qualifications for emerging professions and best practices for assigning courses to disciplines when an appropriate one may not exist.
