Given that the system currently receives no staff development funds and that future funding is doubtful, we seek concurrence from the Faculty Development Committee that this resolution be declared moot and removed.
Whereas the Academic Senate acknowledges the importance of staff development to all community college constituent groups, and
Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges has expressed concern in previous resolutions regarding use and accountability of faculty and staff development and staff diversity funds, (12.04 S96 and 12.05 S96);
Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend to local senates that the faculty receive the majority of state distributed staff development funds and that the local senate maintain the control and distribution of these funds.
