Whereas part-time faculty at California community colleges are an integral part of the educational program, and

Whereas part-time faculty represent a significant percentage of faculty and special needs,

Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge local senates to encourage staff development programs to include components that address the special needs of part-time faculty such as orientation to the campus and partnership programs between part-time and full-time faculty, and urge senates to target special funds to enhance the participation of part-time faculty in programs, committees, conferences, and special projects.
