Whereas the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges is considering changing community college accreditation from a ten to a five-year cycle, and

Whereas some colleges have found it difficult to be adequately reviewed under the current time and scope limits for visits and self-studies done during a fifth-year validation,

Resolved that the Academic Senate support the Accrediting Commissions s proposal that the accreditation cycle for community colleges be changed from a ten-year to a five-year cycle, with the resulting elimination of the current fifth-year validation study, and that a comprehensive self-study report and visit be required every five years.
