Whereas the Board of Governors and the legislature have expressed their concern that there be quantifiable data to support the need for the flexible calendar and staff development programs, and

Whereas the Academic Senate should be the primary body to determine the appropriateness of research in this arena,

Resolved that the Executive Committee of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges consider a statewide research project to determine whether methodology can be developed to measure the link between improvement of instruction, flexible calendar, and staff development programs.
