A Rostrum article was written.
This is an ongoing project as a part of the Consultation Council's task force on assessment for placement's work. The recommendation is to create a cross table of the most used tests as well as to establish a system whereby student assessment results could be stored and accessed electronically. Unfortunately, both recommendations require resources currently not available. The task force will continue to work on what it can.

Whereas, The California Department of Education is concerned about possible "test fatigue" among students;

Whereas, All community colleges are required to use validated assessment instruments;

Whereas, The Academic Senate for California Community Colleges has recognized the value in facilitating the assessment process for mobile students through its call to explore the impact of using common statewide assessment tests (Resolution 13.01 F03); and

Whereas, Repeated testing is a burden on the resources of both students and colleges;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges encourage colleges to use the assessment findings of other colleges, with local modifications made as necessary; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges gather information on the processes, procedures, and impact of using the assessment findings of other colleges and report the results of this research. MSC Disposition: Local Senates
