Whereas the geography of California restricts the interaction of local faculty senate leaders, and
Whereas there is an increasing need for networking among local faculty senate leaders, and
Whereas there is a need for training faculty in leadership skills and the basic processes of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, and
Whereas the cost of the Summer Leadership Institute might be prohibitive for some colleges to send representatives, and
Whereas the participation of the Summer Leadership Institute is limited,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges develop regional leadership workshops as a follow-up to the Summer Leadership Institute, and
Resolved that these regional workshops be two-day events beginning on Friday afternoon and ending on Saturday evening with participants from the Summer Leadership Institute as well as local senate leaders who were unable to attend.
