I'm not sure this was ever our business, but it is past history now in any case.

Whereas, Compton Community College's loss of accreditation status negatively impacted its FTES;

Whereas, The accreditation umbrella provided through AB 318 (Dymally, 2006) at El Camino Community College is intended to assist Compton's return to fully accredited status; and

Whereas, Any reduction of programs and faculty positions would be contrary to the intention of AB 318 and the System's desire to reestablish Compton's accreditation status as a college, and to preserve programs and faculty positions;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge El Camino College and Compton Community College District to refrain from reducing Compton's programs and faculty positions while Compton is in the process of trying to reestablish its viability as a fully accredited state Community College.
