TAC acknowledged that presently there are many groups producing papers on transfer. It was decided that the ICAS report released in April 2009, and a follow-up paper due out spring 2010, addresses this concern. Members of TAC also held a breakout on this topic at the Fall 2010 Plenary Session and published a follow-up Rostrum article.
Whereas, Preparing students for transfer to baccalaureate granting institutions is one of the primary missions of California community colleges;
Whereas, Elements that contribute to an understanding of transfer are varied and complex; and
Whereas, Students, faculty, legislators, and members of the public would benefit from having a single document summarizing the various elements of transfer;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges prepare a paper on transfer aimed at the general audience.
