Whereas AB 1725 states that there is a "long-standing policy of the Board of Governors that at least 75 percent of the hours of credit instruction in the California Community Colleges, as a system, should be taught by full-time instructors" -87482.6(a)-, and

Whereas AB 1725 requires the Chancellor to report to each community college district the number of full-time faculty (FTE) which were to be secured through the use of program improvement revenue to achieve the 75/25 ratio, and

Whereas some districts that secured the number of full-time faculty (FTE) prescribed by the "replacement cost" formula have not yet achieved the desired 75/25 ratio,

Resolved that the Academic Senate urge the Board of Governors to seek legislation that would ensure that the intent of the 75/25 policy be achieved regardless of the districts receiving program improvement funds, and

Resolved that the regulations specify the way hours of instruction taught by post-retirement faculty are counted.
