Survey colleges to investigate different approaches and processes for how each institution determines faculty reassigned/released time; and report to the body at a future date.
Status Report

The Executive Director added questions to the annual survey that is sent to local senate Presidents. A Rostrum article was produced presenting some of the results of this data in the March 2009 Rostrum.

Whereas, Reassigned/released time is essential for faculty to participate in academic and professional matters; and

Whereas, The Academic Senate is responsible for academic and professional matters and there are currently no best practices for identifying the processes for allocating reassigned/released time;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges survey colleges to investigate the different approaches and processes for how each institution determines faculty reassigned/released time; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges report to the body on best practices for the processes for allocating faculty reassigned/released time. MSC Disposition: Local Senates
