This topic was featured at the Faculty Leadership Institute (Summer 2002).Ongoing.Scholarships to AS events are made available and advertised widely. Standards and Practices will suggest criteria for future awards of these scholarship fund.

Whereas, The perspectives, insights and concerns of small colleges are vital to the functioning of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges and the California community colleges; and

Whereas, Faculty at small colleges may experience resistance from administrators to participate in Academic Senate activities;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate urge small colleges to encourage faculty participation in Academic Senate activities;

Resolved, That the Academic Senate urge small colleges to provide necessary resources for such participation, including reassigned time and funds for necessary travel; and

Resolved, That the Academic Senate hold a breakout at the Spring 2002 Plenary Session on the topic of small college participation in Academic Senate activities.
