Whereas many disciplines change more rapidly than telecourses sometimes reflect,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges recommend to the joint Senate and instructional officers committee which is reviewing the Board of Governors' Telecommunications Guidelines (Appendix B) adoption of a revision to require regular review of all telecourses by discipline faculty members, to read along the following lines: "Educational telecommunications courses are subject to the same approval process that governs all curriculum development at a college or in a district, including review by faculty in the discipline, favorable recommendation from discipline faculty and from the college or district curriculum committee, and evaluation of the proposed courses in accordance with established procedures."
