The President has worked closely with the Vice Chancellor for Educational Services to support the Advisory Committees. Completed. Senate representatives on the Workforce and Economic Development Committee have worked to ensure that the evaluation is timely and objective.

Whereas the Vocational Education Statewide Advisory Committees have successfully provided leadership in curriculum and staff development for California community college agriculture, business, health, home economics, and trade and technology education, and public safety, and

Whereas the Statewide Vocational Education Advisory Committees are an important link in fostering dialogue among the Chancellor's Office, the business community, and vocational educators to provide relevant educational experiences, and

Whereas these linkages have supplied California businesses with trained personnel and California vocational educators with resources for effective training and educating in a dynamic environment, and

Whereas the Vocational Education Advisory Committees uniquely serve the professional development and technical assistance needs of California vocational educators,

Resolved that the Academic Senate reaffirm its support for the Vocational Education Statewide Advisory Committees and recognize its crucial role in the development and support for vocational educators in their workforce training efforts, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend continued support and funding for the Vocational Education Statewide Advisory Committees in their partnership efforts with business and industry to provide relevant, effective, and accessible vocational training and educational opportunities for all Californians, and

Resolved that the Academic Senate recommend that the evaluation of these committees be completed as planned for this year by the Chancellor's Office, and include participation by the Academic Senate.
