Whereas, Faculty play an essential role in describing the appropriate contexts for interpreting student success data;
Whereas, According to AB 1725, student success, along with curriculum, program review, and assessment, comes under the purview of faculty; and
Whereas, The Senate has worked with the Research and Planning Group to develop the Student Success Conference and other activities assisting faculty with assessment, research, student learning outcomes, and understanding data;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges work the Research and Planning Group to ensure that training on data, data presentations, and data interpretation includes collaborative work with faculty; and
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges work with the Research and Planning Group to ensure faculty participation at the Student Success Conference breakouts.

Senate leadership continues to work with the RP group to make presentations at the RP Student Success Conference. Beginning in 2011 - 12, the Senate has had at least two breakout slots at each conference to communicate Senate issues as well as other student success efforts.
