Validation of hiring criteria may be done by, among other methods, a group of faculty in the discipline in question who, after discussion with an affirmative action professional, certify that in their professional option the possession of the quality in question is either necessary to adequate performance in the discipline in question or desirable for fully effective performance in that position.
